Since it is still not possible to reliably freeze eggs, for egg donor treatment, we need fresh eggs. If you cannot organize your own egg donor, we will be happy to do so for you.

We will be happy to help you find an egg donor . We have many healthy young fertile Indian women (all of whom are less than 30 years of age , have been medically tested for their fertility ; and screened for infectious diseases such as hepatitis and AIDS ) on our egg donor panel, who have been fully evaluated . I select all our egg donors and screen them personally. The egg donor is super ovulated exclusively for you, ensuring a high success rate. Egg donation in our clinic is anonymous and confidential - we do not do any egg sharing. We do not provide photos of our donors, as we need to protect their identity. I will select the best egg donor for you, by matching your physical traits. You need to send me your photo and your physical characteristics, so I can do so. Our egg donors need to be paid in advance, so we can reserve them for you.

If you have any special requirements (for example, you want only a medical student/doctor; or someone more than 5'6") we will need to advertise on your behalf to find someone who meets your wishlist. We'll be happy to do so, but this will involve an additional cost.

An alternative option (for example, if you want to see photos of your donor) is that you advertise for yourself. You can then shortlist the applicants; and we will be happy to screen the donor you select.

There are many websites which allow you to place an ad in Indian newspapers. These include: www.releasemyad.com ; www.advertisementindia.com and www.ads2book.com.

It's best to restrict your search to donors who live in Mumbai/ Bombay, since this is where our clinic is ! Since Bombay has a population of over 15 million, your chances of finding the right match are excellent !

Do remember that it's not possible to predict what the response to your ad will be . It's best to run multiple ads over 1 week. Here is an example of a good ad.

In order to synchronise cycles, we may cycle both the donor and you with birth control pills for 1 cycle; and then perform the egg collection in the next cycle.

If travelling is a problem, the easiest option is that we freeze your husband's sperm sample (or you hand carry it in a dry-shipper); we superovulate the egg donor and perform ICSI using your husband's frozen sperm; and we then transfer the frozen embryos into your uterus when it is convenient for you.

Our charges for a donor egg IVF cycle are US $ 6500. This includes all medical treatments and procedures. You need to pay the donor an advance of US $ 1000 separately. This means your all-inclusive cost is US $ 7500 - which make this very cost -effective !

For embryo donation, we have frozen supernumerary embryos which patients who have already conceived have kindly agreed to donate to other infertile couples. Embryo adoption is a type of prenatal adoption !

Many patients find it difficult to decide between egg donation and embryo adoption. The treatment plan is similar and the pregnancy rate with both options is equally high - about 50% per cycle. However, each has its pros and cons.

Embryo adoption is less expensive ; and easier to do because we are using frozen embryos. There is no waiting list involved and the treatment can be done whenever you are ready. However, both the eggs and sperm will be coming from unknown young people, so you will be providing no genetic contribution to the baby.

Egg donation is more expensive; and it takes us 2-3 months to arrange this, as we need to find an egg donor for you; to synchronise her cycle with yours; and to superovulate her for you. With egg donation, the sperm used will be yours.

In summary, if providing your genetic contribution is important, then egg donation is a better idea. If not, then embryo adoption is better.
