You can't just hope - you have to go out there and make things happen. That's exactly what we did. We went to Dr Malpani's.
Our story takes us back almost 11 years and that's as long as we have been married. After marriage my husband and I were not keen on starting a family soon but decided to take things easy for a while. That's one reason we were not overly concerned when I didn't get pregnant. As the 3rd year rolled by we started taking things more seriously and tried hard to have a baby but nothing happened. We carried on doing what we had to and living in denial. By this time we got busy with our careers and social life and another two years drifted by. At this point we realized we were losing precious years and decided to look for help.
We visited three different infertility centers abroad over a period of four years. After 3 failed IUI attempts and one failed IVF we were back to square one - emotionally broken very disillusioned and of course poorer by a chunk of our savings. The doctors could not tell us what the problem was as there was nothing in their diagnosis to suggest that we were infertile. We were told that we were one of the unfortunate couples who fell into the 10% category that are biologically fit to have a baby but yet cannot.
At this point destiny took a turn for the better. Whilst visiting a friend I happened to browse through an Indian magazine and read an article on Dr Malpani's Infertility clinic in Mumbai. I spoke to my husband about it and we took a look at the website. It was so informative and transparent that even a layman could understand it. I communicated with Dr Maplani by e-mails and he explained how the whole IVF process works. I must say that even though Doctor has a busy schedule he takes time to reply promptly. My husband and I were quite convinced with the explanation and we decided to visit Dr Malpani at his clinic in Mumbai.
We met Dr Aniruddha Malpani at his clinic and he walked us through the treatment options available that were relevant to us. He was frank in not giving us assurances on the success of the treatment but mentioned the probabilities by way of a percentage of success. However one thing was different with Dr Malpani - he mentioned some options we could consider. This was the first time we could have a plan A, B and C. If one failed we could try another and if that failed then another. We decided to go for an IVF treatment. I shall not get into the details of my treatment as the process is well explained on doctors website and his book on How to Have a Baby is a must read. The whole IVF process went off well and when I got back to Dubai I did the HCG test exactly 14 days after the embryo transfer. The result was positive and my husband and I have no words to describe our joy at knowing I was pregnant.
I can't say I had a smooth pregnancy and there were times during the initial few weeks where I was tense and had concerns. I had to e-mail Dr Malpani to check on things and he was ever so kind and promptly responded. Nine months later I delivered a healthy baby boy who is doing well.
We are very happy and grateful to Dr Aniruddha Malpani and Dr Anjali Malpani for making our life whole. They are a wonderful team doing a great job in bringing happiness to many childless couples. We wish them many a success. It is also worth mentioning that they have a lovely staff at the clinic whose service is commendable with a personal touch.
We have plans to go back to Dr Malpani's when we are ready to have our second baby as we know we will succeed again.
