Skin changes during pregnancy
Skin changes during pregnancy
Everything changes around you and within you when you are pregnant. The changes start from the first trimester until the end of delivery. Even after delivery, the changes can be seen. The question is when and how the differences begin. The answer is that it depends. Some women experience one type of change, some may experience another, and the extent of the changes varies from woman to woman.

Following are some of the changes you can expect while being pregnant. Note that it may not apply to every woman out there. Some may have a few, and some may have all of the following.
Changes in face
the most common among these changes is the change in the color of the face. Dark irregular patches appear on the faces of some women during pregnancy. These patches appear on lips, upper cheek, nose, and forehead due to hormonal changes in the body. The leading cause is melanin pigments which are caused due to female sex hormones.
These patches remain for several months and even for years in some women. So to protect yourself from it, you need to protect your face from sunlight while being pregnant. Also, try not to take oral contraceptives because it is also one of the main reasons for the dark patches.
Stretch Marks
In the fifth month, there appear pinkish lines on the belly, breasts, and hips, and it is the most common and discussed the change in pregnant women. Almost 90% of women have them. So if you find any of these marks on your belly, breasts, or hips, do not worry because it is a sign that you will get a healthy baby. These marks even remain for years, reminding you of your status (mother).
Some cream and lotion having vitamin E and alpha-hydroxy acids are used to prevent these marks. Sometimes it helps prevent them, and sometimes it does not. It depends on the condition of a woman. There is no medical explanation for it. If it does not work on your body, do not worry because it does not work on many other women as well.
Changes in skin
You might feel changes in some parts of your skin, primarily nipples and the area around them; in some women, the full color of the body changes. The color becomes darker and darker around these areas. And the reason is, again, melanin pigment. In half of the pregnant women, a line appears starting from the belly to the pubic bone. The color of this line changes from lighter to darker with time. It starts to occur during the fifth month of the pregnancy.
If you find these changes, you do not need to worry because it is common among pregnant women. But still, if you want to look like any other normal woman, you would need to go to a dermatologist. You will find the best dermatologist in Orlando or if you live in another city, you can ask your local doctor who is the best.
Itchiness
It is almost in all pregnant women. When you’re beautiful child grows inside your belly, your belly starts to grow. Consequently, the muscles stretch, causing itchiness on the lower side of your abdomen or thighs. This can be both irritating and nice at the same time. But try not to scratch that place because it would be tough for you in the future to remove that scratch. So what is the remedy then? Well! Try some moisturizer. Try to keep your body more moist and fluid at the start of pregnancy. But if the irritating somehow still starts, you can also use an anti-itching cream.
When all these things fail to work and you feel nausea, vomiting, fatigue, along with irritation, you should consult your doctor, as you could have cholestasis. This illness is directly related to the liver, and it is not that common because it can only be found in one out of fifty pregnant women. The rare a thing, the more dangerous it is, so you need to consult your doctor as soon as possible.
Conclusion
All these changes are expected, you do not need to worry, and most of them will be cured by itself after the pregnancy. You just need to focus on your body, diet, and baby, and the rest will be settled automatically. Nonetheless, if the changes are severe, you need to consult your doctor right away.
