What we are known for

Four things you can check, rather than four things we would like you to believe.

Doing IVF since 1991

We started this clinic in 1991 and have been doing IVF continuously since. We perform about 300 IVF cycles a year, which is deliberately small: it is the number two doctors can do personally without handing any part of it to someone else.

No fixed protocols

There is no house protocol you get slotted into. Treatment is built around your history, your test results and your age. This is only possible because the same two doctors see you at every visit and remember your cycle without reading it off a file.

Firsts in Indian fertility medicine

India's first sperm bank, opened in 1991. India's first pregnancy after pre-implantation genetic diagnosis, in 1999. India's first support group for infertile couples, Infertility Friends. India's first free patient education library, HELP.

Male-factor and difficult cases

A substantial part of our published work is on retrieving sperm surgically and using it with ICSI, for men who were told they had no options. If you have been given a diagnosis of azoospermia elsewhere, that body of work is on this page and you can read it.

Awarded the Ramabai Nowrungay Travelling Fellowship by Bombay University in 1989 for specialist training abroad, and the Dr Menino de Souza prize for best all-round student of Seth G.S. Medical College in 1983. Studied at Harvard and Johns Hopkins as a medical student.

Has appeared on BBC, CNN, CBS and ABC as an IVF expert.

Saiprasad Gundeti

M.Sc. (Zoology) — Chief Embryologist and Laboratory Director

  • Master's degree in Zoology
  • Over 12 years' experience in human ART

Trained at The Bridge Centre, London; the Leuven Institute for Fertility and Embryology, Belgium; and IVI Fertility Clinic, Barcelona. Works in IVF, ICSI, trophectoderm biopsy for array-CGH and NGS, and blastocyst and oocyte vitrification.

Your embryos are handled by one named embryologist, not a rota. In IVF the laboratory decides as much as the clinic does, so we name ours.
